I really love both of these microphones. I’ve known about the Neumann for years and it’s definitely on my list—especially for drum overheads—but I’d never used it on saxophone before and found it surprisingly pleasant. I’d never even heard of the Gefell before this, and it absolutely blew me away. The sound is incredible and it’s 100% at the top of my list for mics I want to buy for saxophone in the future.
